SBA Update

In an effort to keep the student body apprised of what SBA is doing, I prepared the following summary of SBA activities since the last Docket issue. At the most recent meeting the policy on alcohol at on-campus events was reiterated. All alcohol MUST stay where the bartender and the police are during on-campus events - it may NOT leave the Atrium. This means students may not take alcohol to class with them and they may not leave the building with any alcohol. Further, it was mentioned that students may not bring their own alcohol into the law school for personal consumption. This is a concern from the administration that the Board is encouraging students to take seriously.
There were several supplemental budget requests at the meeting and the Board encourages any organizations who think they may need additional funds before the next meeting in January to contact Webster Ye or Richard Peterson in order to take care of that PRIOR to the next Board meeting on November 1st. Additionally, Bryan Weir worked with other organizations on the Arlington campus to schedule a Happy Hour at Mr. Days on October 22 from 6pm-9pm. This event is open to all students on the Arlington Campus and is a great way to network with other students from George Mason's other programs on our campus and to enjoy the weekly Thursday happy hour. Both food and drinks will be provided at this event and all are encouraged to attend!
