The Career, Academic and Alumni Services Office wishes the Class of 2009 great success and hopes everyone stays in touch after graduation! Please note the following regarding continuing services to alumni, including: employment counseling, GMU email accounts, and the law alumni directory and LinkedIn group:

Employment Counseling: CAAS offers counseling to alumni as well as to students and will continue to work one-on-one with any graduate continuing to look for post-graduation employment. Several job banks, including the GMU job bank on Symplicity, are available to alumni. CAAS can also obtain access for graduates at career services offices in other parts of the country. If your job plans are settled and you would like to be in the law school Career Advisory Network, let CAAS know. Alumni members of the Career Advisory Network sit on career panels, serve as mentors, participate in career workshops, and/or conduct mock interviews.

GMU Email Accounts: In the past, graduates have been given access to their GMU email accounts until approximately early September after the May graduation ceremony. In addition, as a free service to all GMU alumni, the GMU Alumni Association now offers a lifetime email forwarding service. Simply visit the MASONline Alumni Directory (http://www.gmu.edu/alumni/alumnidir.html) and click on "E-mail Forwarding" to register for a free email alias (yourname@gmualumni.org). Any email messages that are sent to this alias email will be forwarded to any account you choose. In the meantime, your current email addresses will be uploaded into the University email system, which is used sparingly to update alumni on school news and events. If you would like to be excluded from the email system, contact us at lawalum@gmu.edu.

Law Alumni Directory and LinkedIn: In the fall, all Class of 2009 graduates will be uploaded into the password protected online law alumni directory. The directory has both basic and advanced searching capabilities that will allow you to search for fellow alumni by items such as name, year of graduation, employer, city, practice areas, bar memberships, membership in the Capitol Hill Alumni Group, and more. You will have the ability to individualize your listing by, for example, blocking certain information, posting pictures, linking to your own URL websites, and sending updates. In the meantime, all members of the Class of 2009 can search the directory with a temporary password. To obtain a temporary password, send an email request with your name, phone number, and G number to lawalum@gmu.edu. And, please alert CAAS of employment needs and changes, address changes, and new email addresses. Changes can be reported to CAAS directly via phone (993-8020) or email at lawalum@gmu.edu. In addition, the Law Alumni have a group on LinkedIn. Just type in George Mason University School of Law and you will find the group.

If you have any questions about services to or events for alumni, please contact Associate Dean Victoria Huber or Dana Fallon, Assistant Director for Alumni Services ('00), at lawalum@gmu.edu.
