Groh-Wilson, Bruce-Maguire to Compete in Final Round at U.S. Court of Appeals for D.C. Circuit

On Saturday, November 6, the Moot Court Board hosted the annual Upper Class Moot Court Competition, which provides GMUSL students a forum for developing appellate advocacy skills. A field of over fifty second and third year students vied for the opportunity to argue in the competition's final round on Friday, November 12, at the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
The Honorable Edith Hollan Jones Speaks on 'Prudence as a Judicial Virtue'

At the Richard S. Murphy Lecture on October 28, the Honorable Edith Hollan Jones told a packed house that prudence was an unusual but essential virtue that is much needed among judges today. The family of former GMUSL professor, Richard S. Murphy, invited Jones to speak at the third annual lecture in Murphy's memory.

Eric Swartz (2D) and Jason Johnson (3D) attended the Lavender Law Conference in Minneapolis, held September 30 thru October 1. The National Lesbian and Gay Law Association hosts the annual event, which draws close to a thousand legal professionals and law students who are interested in legal issues related to sexual orientation.

Early in the morning on Saturday, October 23, a group of GMUSL students went to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) to do an APIL service project for needy families. AFAC is a non-profit organization devoted to feeding Arlington residents who cannot afford to purchase enough food for themselves.
